23rd in the Master's Elite 45+ field and 73rd overall. Missed the huge crash at the start.
One rider could not clip in, another ran straight into the back of him and the little 11 year old got caught in the cross fire. Both riders starting beside me went down. My old crit skills kicked in, saw a hole and made it through safely. That was my birthday present....staying up right.
Two taken to the hospital and many broken bikes. The crash took up the whole road and was almost five feet high. In two decades of racing I have never seen a crash this bad. All I can say is I am glad I am better lucky than good.
