OSRS #9 - Germantown p/b BigDaveSports & Queen City Wheels

Finally made the podium!! Tough day, fatigued, was ready to just fall off from the group several times. But stuck it out until the end. Final sprint finish was a decent uphill battle, went from about 15th at the bottom and powered my way up to 3rd! Great feeling to land on the podium and cap off the series.

This had to be the best race of 2013 and the racing etiquette was top notch with a few surprises with all the racers. The time bonuses really changed the race making it extremely fun and never boring. So much for bridging the gap at 3k before the final sprint leaving nothing in the tank. Really going to miss Big Dave with the OSRS next year.

This was the final race in a fun weekend. The course was flat with a slight uphill finish. When a couple UC and Bertolli guys went off the front on the third lap I soloed to bridge. I caught the group of four and joined into their pace line. One guy fell back and the three of us worked to together for 10 minutes until the peloton chased us down. I was spent from my solo effort and rested in the back of the group for the next 25 miles or so. The race came down to a field sprint with the entire field. With very tired legs, I managed to get 8th today and 5th overall in the GC standings for the weekend.
